She was born April 21, 1938, in Lima to the late Elmer and Alice (Klausing) Nomina.
On February 6, 1960, she married Ronald Grothouse who preceded her in death on October 8, 1997.
Carol is survived by a grandson, Jared Fisher (fiancé Brittany Snyder) of Delphos; brother, John (Arlene) Nomina of Dephos; sisters, Helen Bockey and Susan (Donald Pattoff) Lang both of Maumee; and a sister-in-law, Liz Nomina of Estero, FL.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Jerry Fisher; and a brother, Tom Nomina.
Carol was a graduate of Delphos St. John's and went on to receive her teaching degree from the University of Dayton. She was a Home Economics teacher at Jefferson High School for many years and also taught at St. John's. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club. Carol volunteered at Vancrest while her daughter, Deb, was working. She was an avid reader and loved her cats, especially her cat Roo.
A Memorial Service will begin at noon on Saturday, November 12 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos. Visitation will be before the service from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
