Dora Mae Thomas, age 77, of Gardendale, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. She worked at Lovemans for 15 years, and a career of care giving at a nursing home for 10 years. She loved to travel, including sightseeing across the United States as she accompanied Fred during his trucking career. Dora had a big heart, caring for her loving family and friends any time they were in need. She was guided by Jesus in her daily journey. She is preceded in death by her son, Speedy Fred Thomas III; grandson, Zackry A. Thomas; brothers, Fred McKinney and Earnest G. Doss; sister, Ora Fay Mayfield; and nephew, Earnest Jean Doss Jr. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Fred L. Thomas; sister, Linda Gayle Robinson; brother-in-law, Carl Mayfield, daughter-in-law, Susan M. Thomas; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; special friends Kay Taylor and Sue Ship; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation for Dora Mae on Friday Nov. 1, 2019 at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with service to start at 11:00 AM.
