Obit - John Daniel Young, 79 of Tiftonia, passed away, Tuesday, June 8 2004. He was a life-long resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Nazarene faith. He was also a truck driver for more than 60 years and was known as "Tennessee Possum" by all his fellow drivers. He was the last of six children born to the late Walter and Neza Douglas Young and was also preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Lucille Veal. Survivors include son, Charles Veal of Lookout Mountain, GA; daughter, Linda Tennyson Potter of Flintstone, GA; three grandchildren, Richard Tennyson, Chlin Tennyson Yemm and Christopher Keith Veal; seven great-grandchldren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 11, 2004 at 11am in the funera home chapel. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, GA.
