Blackshear, GA

Mr. Kirtis Willie "Shortman" Tyler, 54, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at the Satilla Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

A native of Bessemer, AL, he had lived in Pierce County for most of his adult life. He was a mobile home service and repairman and was a member of the Midway Baptist Church. Mr. Tyler will be remembered for his easy going personality and his infectious smile. He loved four-wheeling, hunting and fishing. Mr. Tyler was a son of the late James Elbert & Lucille Simmons Tyler. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Stacia Tyler, and a sister, Linda Ware.

Survivors are his wife, April Joy Hunsinger Tyler of Blackshear; a son and his fiance', Jo Jo Tyler and Brandie Luke both of Blackshear; two sisters & brothers-n-law, Tina & Randy Binnon of Brent, AL and Suzzie & John Lightsey of Talladega, AL; a brother and sister-n-law, J. W. & Mae Tyler of Bessemer, AL; 3 grandchildren, John W. Tyler, Cathrine Joann Tyler and Amber Nicole Britt all of Blackshear; an aunt and uncle, Deann & Hershel Stacy of Blackshear; his special hunting & fishing buddy, Shannon Strickland of Blackshear and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Tyler will be held Saturday afternoon, February 9, 2008, at 3:00 o'clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the Waters Cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. Tyler will be held Friday evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.
