She taught school for a few years and during the war, worked in Washington, DC. She married John L. Cassell, her husband of 62 years, in November 1940 and resided in the Lakewood area of Dallas since 1948. Mary is survived by her only child, Jay Cassell, and his wife, Gay Weake, of Ketchum, Idaho, as well as six brothers and sisters-in-law and their families. Her husband, John, preceded her in death. Mary was known for her sense of humor, independence, sharp memory, and interest in others. She will be missed by all. There will be a private service at Restland followed by a memorial service at Northridge Presbyterian Church in late February.
