Her funeral service will be held this Tuesday, March 15th, starting at 1 pm, with a public visitation before from 12-1 pm at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville, followed by a small service at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The service will be officiated by her eldest son, Wayne Ball.
Born August 17th,1932, in Iredell County, Mrs. Ball was the youngest of seven children to Irel Woodfin and Linda Trexler Plyler.
She graduated Troutman High School in 1950 and soon began her career in textiles with Draymore and Burlington Mills. She married Hugh G. Ball, Jr. on January 28th, 1951, and was blessed with 3 children, Irel Wayne (Diana), Ray Lynn (Karon) and Levia Paulette (Mark). Throughout their life together, they enjoyed riding their motorcycle, many family beach trips, camping with their close friends and spoiling their 8 grandchildren (Jeffery, Capella, Anthony, Stephen, Casey, Andrea, Sarah and Carmen), 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. After the passing of her beloved husband, Pauline came out of retirement to fulfill her days as a cafeteria worker at Lake Norman High School. She also spent many hours enjoying gospel music and the affection of her devoted fur babies.
