Mary Jeannette Linnarz Gomez of Sandy, Utah, 83 years old, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2022 from complications due to a fall and a subsequent stroke.

Born December 22, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Otto Julius Linnarz and Mary Kathryn Andersen. She grew up in a loving home with four siblings. They didn't have a lot of worldly posessions but love was abundant and that became a theme in her life.

She graduated from Jordan High School in 1957 and was a proud "Beetdigger" her whole life, remaining close with many of her classmates.

Jeannette married Andrew Val Gomez in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1963, later amicably divorced. They were blessed with three children, Mike, Lesli and April. They were the best parents any child could ask for providing everything we needed, most importantly, love.

Mom was a hard worker, she had many interesting jobs from an elevator operator in the Walker Building to a stewardess for Frontier Airlines. Her longest career choice began with Mountain Bell which later became AT&T, from which she retired.

Mom was a very talentated lady, she enjoyed skiing, motorcycle riding, reading, sewing and fast cars. She loved gardening (flower and vegetable) and was an absolute weed master. Even at the ripe old age of 83 she could be found outside working in her yard. Mom had a love of travel, in and out of the U.S. The only state she did not grace was Minnesota (their loss). But her favorite place to visit was Bear Lake, with countless days of laughter and good times with family and friends. Many friends and family will forever remember her talents in cake decorating and floral design for lots of weddings, birthdays and special events.

Jeannette was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a strong testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ. She served in many callings including Primary, Scouts, Relief Society and Young Women where she enjoyed girls camp with her daughters and helped the girls play harmless pranks and enjoy their time in nature. She also served a mission at the Conference Center as a tour guide and volunteered her time working at the Jordan River Temple.

Mom's greatest passion was her family. Proof of it was sitting through endless sports games and dance recitals which she thoroughly enjoyed. She enjoyed sewing clothes, costumes and beautiful dresses for her daughter's high school dances. We would have all starved if we had to rely on mom picking a place to eat as making decisions were not her strong suit. Mom could never get very mad, even her spankings with the wooden spoon didn't hurt. But really, she was very generous and always made room at the dinner table and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. She taught us to love each other, to be patient with each other and to want the best for each other.

Mom, we love you, you are the best!

Jeannette is survived by her children: Mike (Karrie) Gomez, Lesli Gomez (Paul Loeschorn), and April Gomez, grandkids Jordan (Sadie), Haleigh (Roberto), Andrew (Kadi), Christopher and Allix (Shaffer), great grandkids Lula, Scottie, Ace and Houston (with two boys due in January 2023) as well as Lesli and April's four legged children. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Sadler and Nada Linnarz.

She is preceded in death by Andrew Val Gomez (former spouse), her parents, brother Richard Linnarz and sister Gwen Bellon.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all her healthcare workers and the amazing Hospice team at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.
