She will be laid to rest in St. Paul's Union Cemetery in Stoverstown.
Carolyn was born February 1, 1924, in West York, a daughter of the late William and Bertha (Gross) Ehrhart.
Carolyn graduated with the West York High School Class of 1942. In her early years she was employed at York Corporation and S. Morgan Smith in York. Carolyn and Donald retired in 1978 from R.D. Gentzler and Son Grocery and Hardware Store in Stoverstown, which they owned and operated. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stoverstown and the Lutheran Missionary Society. She was also a member of the National AARP.
In addition to her devoted husband, Donald, she leaves a son, Randall D. Gentzler and his wife, Trudy of Harleysville; five grandchildren, Travis, Ryan, Lauren, and Zachary Gentzler, and Megan Gentzler Pham; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Austin, and Bradley Gentzler; and a sister, Janet Shirey of York. Mrs. Gentzler was preceded in death by a son, Brad K. Gentzler in 2005; two sisters, Jean Leppo and Ruth Boeckel; and a brother, Spurgeon Ehrhart.
