Mr. Simpson was born on August 12, 1921 in Downsville, Louisiana and passed away at home Thursday, February 7, 2008.
Mr. Simpson was retired from Crow Burlingame of over 45 years of service. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in World War II with the 416th Night Fighters. He was an Ex POW and received the Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a member of the Pine Hills Country Club in Calhoun and loved playing golf with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Mae Maulden Simpson and Talmadge Ford Simpson Sr., two sisters, Larue Simpson and Mary Jo Fulton, one brother, Billie Ford Simpson.
Survivors include his wife, Lila Simpson of West Monroe, son, Tal Simpson and wife Joella of Crossroads, LA., two grandchildren, Savannah and Wiley, two brothers, Johnny Simpson and wife Anna Joyce of Calhoun, La.; Ervin Simpson, one sister, Floyce Meyer, numerous beloved relatives and friends, and all of West, Monroe, La.
Pallbearers will be Don Thompson, Fletcher Loyd, Bobby Loyd, Dusty Gates, Jeff Jordan, Kevin Meyer, and Johnny Simpson. Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2008 from 5:00 Pm until 7:00 Pm at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe. The family would like to thank the Hospice Care of Louisiana and also the V.A. Medical Center in Shreveport and Monroe.
