Catherine Mabel Hefner Reeves, age 91, of Decatur, GA passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Henry S. Reeves; son, Douglas Shannon Reeves; daughter-in-law, Brenda Reeves. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Jim) Phillips of Decatur, GA; son, Steve Reeves of Dacula, GA; daughter-in-law, Theresa Reeves of SC; eight grandchildren, Shawnessy (Bill) Finnie, Malissa (Mohammed) Fahmy, Shannon (Jessica) Reeves, Jason (Heather) Reeves, Nick (Jennifer) Hulsey, Katie (David) Zummo, Christina (Robert) Bryant, Carrie (Maurice) Cooke; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Reeves was born on December 30, 1930 in Newton, NC. She was a graduate of Bandys High School in Newton, NC. Mrs. Reeves was a retired Retail Manager from Halperns Import at North Dekalb Mall. She was a member of Valley Brook Baptist Church in Decatur, GA She always had a smile on her face. Catherine was a kind and selfless person. She always helped others when needed. She loved family and always enjoyed get-togethers. She loved fresh flowers and enjoyed working in the yard. She took up painting by numbers with watercolors, and had some beautiful pictures. She was a talented seamstress. She loved the Lord and her church, Valley Brook Baptist Church. She served on the flower committee, the nursery, and helped in the kitchen when needed. She was a chaperone with many of the children's events. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.
