Carol "Sam" Alvin Stanley, 87, of Culpeper, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Novant Health UVA Culpeper Hospital. He was born November 20, 1934 in Virginia to the late Thomas and Rosa Stanley.
Sam is survived by his five children, Rusty Stanley (Sandy), Robin Soutter (Kenny), Dale Stanley (Nancy), Donna Cason (Milton), and Cathy Poe; four siblings, Shirley Knighting, Barbara Tharp, Stella Collier, and Henry Stanley; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Stanley, Erin Rutkowski, Melissa Martin, Stacy Soutter, Justin Stanley, Travis Stanley, Johnathan Bobbitt, Channing Cason, and Lindsey Poe; ten great grandchildren; his companion, Pansy Fincham; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Carol is preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Stanley; and five siblings, Daisy Bailey, Charlie Stanley, Pearl Juiffre, Gertrude Fincham, and Luther "Bully" Stanley.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
