Charlie is predeceased by his parents, Charlie Gray Jr. and Evelyn VanNostrand Gray. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 27 years, Sharon Gray; daughter, Kathryne King (Daniel); son, Charlie Gray IV (Thressa); grandchildren, Emmi, Raelynn, Charlie V and Aubree; and siblings, Debbie Ashton (Skip), Barbara Hall, Rick Workman (Deb), Lynda Dean (Jeff) and Jeff Workman (Donna); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlie dedicated many years to carpentry and farming and spent 18 ½ years with the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office. Charlie loved his country and was a true patriot. He was generous, selfless and kind. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids the most. Although his time was cut short, he lived life with a full heart.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 3pm at Charity United Methodist Cemetery, 4080 Charity Neck Rd. Virginia Beach, VA 23457 with a reception to follow in the social hall.
