James Griffin "Griff" Lilly, age 71, of Daniels, WV, passed away on 6 Oct 2022. Having graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Forestry and Wildlife Management, he was always a proud Hokie in a sea of Mountaineers in his hometown. Griff also always knew the Latin name of every tree and made sure you did too if you had the pleasure of accompanying him on a trek through the woods. He loved the mountains and rivers he called home.

Griff was loved by his family and affectionately referred to as "Paca" by his granddaughters (the origin story behind this nickname is politely disputed amongst the family). Griff was part of the Daniels Missionary Baptist Church community and couldn't go anywhere without running into someone he knew. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend. He was the only son of Elwood and Edith Lilly and is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Sharon; children Jared Lilly and Ashleigh Breske and her spouse Adam; and granddaughters Evelyn and Isla Breske; as well as his lifelong friend Jim Okes and his wife Mary Beth.

Griff will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. If you would like to honor Griff's life with a charitable donation, please consider one of the following charities (or one of your own choosing):
Glade-Pinch Creek Trout Association c/o Doug Elliott PO Box 222 Daniels WV 25832
