Born March 30, 1930, on her family's farm in Nokesville, she was the daughter of Lester and Gladys Flory and lived her entire life in the Nokesville area. After graduating from Nokesville High School, she became a wife and mother. She was active in her church community, served as a much-loved substitute teacher for 25 years at BDHS, and served as a volunteer at Prince William Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William T. Fleming, and her son, Larry Beard. She is survived by her children, Butch Beard of Nokesville and his wife, Amy; Hope Fleming Marsh of Williamsburg, VA, and her husband, John Floyd; Jane Earman of Oak Island, NC, and her husband, Darrell; Jeanette Baird of Richmond, VA, and her husband, Larry; as well as six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by a sister, Gayle Flory Hawkins, and brother, Sammy Flory, both of Nokesville.
Mary Frances was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and member of the Nokesville community. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered. Her family is consoled knowing that she is now in paradise with her Lord, Jesus Christ. There, she has been reunited with the family and friends who have gone before her.
The family will receive friends at Greenwich Presbyterian Church new Sanctuary, 15400 Greenwich Church Way, on Friday, October 21, at 6-8 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Greenwich Presbyterian Church Chapel at 15305 Vint Hill Road, Nokesville, VA, on October 22, 2022, at 11 a.m., with interment at Valley View Cemetery, Nokesville. Immediately following interment, the family invites friends to a reception in the Greenwich Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
