WHITEVILLE —Charles Mace Suggs, 64, of Rt. 4, Whiteville, died Friday morning at his home. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Palmyra Church, where funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Burris Carter, the Rev. J. Robert Carter and the Rev. E. V. Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife, the former Hattis Purvis of Ashe; one son, W. D. of Suggs; one daughter, Mrs. Newell Simmons; three sisters, Mrs. O. D. Ray, Mrs. Hilton Register and Mrs. Obadiah Blackmon and two grandchildren.
