Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Saturday. Mrs. Robinson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday.
On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, the Lord called home Mrs. Queen Esther Rox-Robinson. Queen Esther was born on September 4, 1934 in Greensboro, Alabama, the daughter of William and Sadie Rox. She later moved to Flint, Michigan where she graduated from Flint Northern High School. Queen Esther accepted Christ in her life at an early age and was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. During her service at Macedonia, she sang in numerous choirs from the Young Adult Choir to the Gospel Chorus. She also sang in the Wilson Ensemble. With a love for gospel music, when she was at home you would always hear WFLT 1420AM playing in the background day and night on the radio. Along with listening to gospel on the radio Queen would also sing and play it on the piano. Queen Esther was also known as the Avon Lady with the fondness for puzzles and baking Coconut Pineapple Cakes. Mrs. Rox-Robinson had a fondness for helping other especially children which led her to working at places like Dort Oak Park Neighborhood House, Christ Episcopal Center and Dort Elementary School.
Mrs. Queen Esther Rox-Robinson leaves to cherish her unforgettable memory: son, Artis Robinson; daughter, Fitzgerald Robinson; grandchildren, Artricia Robinson, all of Flint and Quianna (Terrance) English of Dalzell, SC; great-grandchildren, Adaycia Johnson, My'Aniah Robinson, Adeysean Robinson, Terrance English Jr. and Tri'Aniah English; sister, Millie Toliver and Corrine (Abraham) Holiday; brother, Timothy Rox, all of Cleveland, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special sister, Mary Alice Williams whom she affectionately called "Nig" and family; special nieces and caregivers, Loistene Ferguson and Gloria Robinson; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Turner, Lee "That Boy" Spencer, Alice Crawford, Alken Vanderson, Mary Cole and the Greene and Webster families.
Mrs. Rox-Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin, Robinson; parents, William and Sadie Rox; sisters, Alberta Johnson and Camalee Williamson; brothers, William Rox Jr., Joseph Rox, Rolen Rox, Oliver Rox and Eddie Rox; aunt, uncles, Stonewall Woodson, Naomi Dunn and Cora Vanderson.
