John A. Fabian, 87, of 38 Grove St., Trucksville, died Saturday in Nesbitt Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Born in Larksville, March 3, 1893, he has been a resident of the Back Mountain area the past 54 years. A carpenter most of his life, he worked for numerous contractors. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union 768, St. Theresa's Church, Shavertown and its Holy Name Society. His son, Stanley, died last April. He and his wife, the former Helen F. Wolf, recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Besides his wife, he survived by daughters, Mrs. George Everhart, Kingston; Mrs. George McGee, Lindenwold, N.J.; son, John A., Folsom, Calif.; brothers, Frank, Martin and Anthony, all of Wyoming Valley; sisters, Mrs. Elmer Parks and Mrs. Susan Krankota, both of Detroit, Mich. and Mrs. Margaret Fedrowicz, Plymouth; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Harold C. Snowden Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10: 30 in St. Theresa's. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Friends may call 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
