"Mr. W. R. Plum has been a familiar figure in New Hamburg for over a generation. He is engaged in insurance, conveyancing and real estate and follows his chosen calling with acceptability to many clients and honor and profit to himself. But it is as a public man Mr. Plum bulks large in his community. He is a gentleman of high character and ideals who has rendered valiant service to his native town, and township. After a long career in the town Council he represented his district in the County Council for 10 years. Mr. Plum is possessed of marked oratorical powers which, combined with a keenly incisive and logical mind, render him a most useful public servant. He has ever been found on the side of progress and what a community like New Hamburg owes to men of his stamp, can scarcely be estimated."
