Larue Eileen (Calhoun) Lewis, 84, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family.
Born October 23, 1937, in Mountain Lake Park, MD, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Calhoun and Nellie (Stottlemeyer) Calhoun. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis Joseph "Frank" Lewis, Sr.; one brother, Edsel Calhoun, Sr.; one sister, Laverna "Pete" Bray; and one brother in-law, Ellwood Bray.
Larue worked for C&P Telephone Company for thirty years until she retired. After retirement, she worked at First United Bank & Trust. Larue enjoyed crafting and flower gardening. She was a member of Crellin United Brethren In Christ Church.
She is survived by two sons, Francis J. Lewis, Jr. & Jeri Lynn, Oakland, MD and Todd A. Lewis & Rachelle, Summit Point, WV; one brother, Jerry Calhoun & Kathie, Terra Alta, WV; six grandchildren, Corey Beneduce & Mike, Seth Lewis, Krista Lewis, Jordan Hampshire & Nathaniel, Joshua Lewis, and Kara Lewis; and one great-granddaughter, Frances Jane Beneduce.
Larue will be cremated.
