Anthony V. Potts, of O'Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the age of 80.

He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen Potts; loving children Anthony (Susan) Potts, Timothy J. (Angie) Potts, Christopher T. Potts, and Craig M. (Debbie) Potts; treasured grandchildren Emma Grace Potts, Adam Potts, Lindsey Potts, Tia Mei (Brandon) Oi, Emily Potts, Annie Potts, Aaron Potts, Ashley (Tony) Demetrulias, and Bryant Mitchell; cherished great-grandchildren Dakota Demetrulias, Jack Demetrulias, and Sophia Oi; dear brothers Clarence (the late Naomi) Potts, Vernon (the late Donna) Potts, Richard (the late Joan) Potts, and Michael (Karen) Potts.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents Francis and Gertrude Potts; and dear siblings Frank Potts, Mary Lou (Cecil) Cook, Robert (wife Joan survives) Potts, and John (wife Therese survives) Potts.

Tony was a storyteller, jokester, fisherman, friend, He made children laugh, women roll their eyes; he was an easy friend, quick to help, always to the rescue. Fish feared him, deer, not so much. After 30 years with the Post Office and raising four boys with Kathy, he retired to read, fish, and spoil grandchildren in O'Fallon. He never met a stranger, and could talk to anyone who would listen, even when they weren't. His hands never tired of tying flies, making biscuits with the grandkids, knitting hats for NICU babies and the homeless, turning the page on a great book, holding Kathy's hand for fifty-seven years or finding an obscure sport on television. He was always ready to help a friend, brother, cousin, niece or nephew. The last few years' of illness were tough, but he persevered to finally see the Stanley Cup come to St. Louis and hold his first great-grandchild. His laughter filled a room, his stories filled our hearts. We will miss him.
