Arch A Hicks one of the well known citizens of this city who resided in the west end of town died this morning after an illness of several months from heart trouble and other complications aged 42 years.
He had been very ill for several days and his death was not unexpected to those familiar with his condition.
He had high blood pressure and heart trouble and the nature of his ailments were such that the best medical skill could do but little to relieve him.
Mr Hicks leaves a wife formerly Miss Sona Ayers of Sandstone and nine children some of them being quite small. He is also survived by his father, mother and four brothers and four sisters and many more distant relatives.
Mr Hicks was a blacksmith and wagon maker by trade and had been engaged in business here for a number of years. He was an excellent citizen and will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends and relatives.
The funeral will be conducted on Wednesday morning and the remains buried at the Elk Knob graveyard.
