Mary was born about 1824 to James Ready and Catherine Quinihan. She passed away in 1877. Her children have erroneously been connected to her husbands first wife, Ellen Cosgrave.
Mary managed the household money and owned all of the property. While she left her entire estate to son Joseph (13 years old) and daughter Anna Maria (7 years old), her mother was to be in charge of the estate until she died. Conditions were put on housing widowed husband William. "..so long as he shall continue sober, temperate, and industrious, he shall have a home for himself with my mother, until her death. Then with with the children or survivors of them."
