Professional Baseball Player. He was born James Hopkins Bailey and was an undrafted amateur free agent pitcher that played for a brief period for the Cincinnati Reds. He made his debut with the Reds on September 10, 1959 against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. His brother Ed Bailey who was also with the Reds was his catcher. After a 6-3 loss in the only game he pitched in in his major league career, he retired on September 20, 1959. He spent the remainder of his career with minor league teams. He retired from baseball in 1961. He passed away at his home at the age of 87.
