Ronnie E. Spears, 34, R.R.10, Greensburg, died at 5 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 1988 on County Road 400 South in Decatur County.

He was born June 6, 1953, in Greensburg, the son of Hubert and Rosie Peterson Spears. He had been employed for 13 years with the Batesville Casket Co., Batesville. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army from 1972-74. He was a member of the Batesville American Legion, the United Steel Workers of America and the New Point Baptist Church.

He was married March 15, 1975, and his wife, Donna M.Spears, Greensburg, survives; with his father, Hubert Spears, Clarksburg; his mother, Rosie Peterson Stegner, Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Jason Spars, Greensburg, and Chris White, Clarksburg; two daughters, Dori and Jessie Spears, both of Greensburg; two brothers, Don Spears, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Daryl Spears, Harrison, Ohio; three stepbrothers, Grant and Dallas Hollin Jr., both of Kentucky, and Jeff Hollin, Greensburg; two stepsisters, Mary Redd, Germany, and Amanda Hollin, Clarksburg.

One brother, Randall Spears, preceded him in death.

Services with be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, Greensburg, with the Rev. Mark S. Vice officiating.

Burial will be in the Sandcreek Cemetery, Decatur County.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorial donations be to the trust fund being set up for his children.
