Obituary
MARTIN
MAURICE T
Age 98 of Bethel Park, PA, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Dolores (Hager) Martin. Loving father of Terry (Harold) Price and Jeffrey (the late Barbara) Martin and grandfather of Rebecca (Andrew) Profeta. Step great-grandfather of Ethan Profeta. Brother of "Polly" (Derek) Hawver, the late Carolyn (Wilbur) Simank, the late "Peggy" (Warren) McPherson, and brother-in-law of Audrey (Hager) (the late John) Smith, and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and an industrial engineering graduate of Lehigh University. He retired in 1983 after 35 years with Bell of PA as District Manager, Business Services Engineering.

In retirement he continued to enjoy outdoor life at his and Dolores' cottage on Deep Creek Lake in Maryland and water skied until the age of 84. He attended over 50 Elderhostel / Road Scholar programs throughout the USA where he participated in snowmobiling, sailing, cross country skiing, bird watching, and many other activities. Maurice would like to express his appreciation and thanks to all the medical professionals that contributed to his longevity. Per his wishes his body has been donated to the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He left a handwritten note where he wanted to acknowledge and thank all the relatives and friends that he has known over his 98 years. "It was FUN!" He loved birds and in lieu of flowers his family suggests contributions to Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, 614 Dorseyville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238; or to a charity of one's choice
