Anita Joan Cook, 81, passed away October 14, 2022, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born October 9, 1941, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Linard and Pauline Sprouse Cook. She was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. She had worked for J & J Drainage, retiring in 1999.
Anita had attended Penial Nazarene Church and later New Life Covenant Church. She enjoyed cake decorating, sewing, and canning.
On December 31, 1960, she married Lawrence D. Forney. They later divorced. On May 24, 1984, she married Donald Cook in Hutchinson. He passed away on February 7, 2021.
Survivors include her children, Rhonda Rodriquez, Hutchinson, Harry Forney, Hutchinson, Matt (Bobbie) Forney, Andover, and Melody Forney, Hutchinson; stepchildren, Candy Bell, Hutchinson, Jim (Christie) Cook, Hutchinson, Don Cook, Jr., Hutchinson, and April (Mike) Root, Hutchinson; sister Pamela Cook, Hutchinson; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Cook; a sister, Delores Collins; and a brother, Clinton Cook.
A viewing will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Inman Funeral Home, 312 E. Center, Inman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Victorious Life Church, Hutchinson. The funeral service will be live streamed on the Inman Funeral Home Facebook page.
