Annette Harper Leatherwood, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was welcomed into Heaven on Monday, October 10, 2022, after a long battle with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. Her daughters will always be grateful for the kind and loving care the staff at Etowah Healthcare Center and Hospice of Chattanooga provided in the last months of her life.

Annette was born on July 1, 1941 to Reed and Pauline (Shelton) Harper. Her beloved grandparents, Pat and Hattie Shelton, were there to help raise her and her siblings. It was this blended home that nurtured a deep and abiding Christian faith that sustained her throughout her life – most especially when she lost those she loved; her mother when she was only 28 years old; great-nephew, Caleb Coleman and sister, Carolyn Coleman. She yearned for the day when they would be reunited and we can almost hear the shouting in Heaven from here.

Loved ones left behind to miss her, the best and most loved brother in the world, Paul Harper and his wife, Sheri; three loving daughters and sons-in-law, Kecia McClary, Carmen (Brian) Schroeder, Tabatha (Eric) Miller; their father, Bennie Leatherwood; three adored grandchildren, Erica (Michael) Moore, Adam Miller, and Anna Miller; three adored great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Madison and Corey Moore; brother-in-law, Jim Coleman, who continued to look after her beyond Carolyn's passing; precious nieces and nephews, Tonya Teague, Patrick Harper, Brian Coleman and Jackie McDonald; daughters-in-love, Tammye Lynn and Jill Satterfield; cherished cousins, Joy Moorhouse, Mickey Cronan, Sandra Loudermilk, Amanda Dunn, Walt Moorhouse, Betty Gentry, and Gary Harper.

Annette felt that family was everything and she proved that every day of her life.

Graveside services will be held at Zion Baptist Church, Benton, TN on Monday, October 17th at 2:00 pm with Pastor Chris Alexander officiating.
