Robert Terence ( Terry) English passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 11, 2022. He was born on September 19, 1950 in Kansas City, MO and attended Saint Agnes grade school, Bishop Miege and Rockhurst College.

Terry had a successful basketball career playing at both Bishop Miege and Rockhurst. Through sports, Terry developed a passion for teaching and coaching at Bishop Miege. He was particularly proud of the program he built throughout the 44 years he coached, which led to more than 900 wins and 23 state championships (one baseball). Most important to him, were the relationships he built, lives he influenced, and the friends he met along the way. He appreciated the hard work and sacrifice of the players coaches and parents, and knew the program would not be where it is today without them.

Above all, Terry was a family man. He loved the time spent with his wife, four kids and nine grandchildren. He was married 42 years to Susie (Lindquist) English and she was his best friend and the love of his life. Some of his favorite times were on family vacations, that included long roadtrips throughout the country, courtesy of " Terry's Tours". While teaching, coaching, and owning a lawn service, he always found time to be present at all of his kids and grandkids events.

Things that made him happy were hanging out with friends, the Royals, Chiefs, KU, Michelob Ultras with ice and olives, playing golf, taking care of his yard, Colorado, Bigfoot, Westerns, the Hallmark Channel, and the Miege and St. Agnes communities.

Some of his dislikes were leaves, a close loss, acorns and referees, lol.

Terry is survived by his wife Susie, sons Mark (Diana), Greg (Jennifer), Jeff (Maddy), daughter Jenny (Brian) and grandchildren Jackson, Brett, Nora, Sam, Myles, Nate, Malia, Marcus and Cole. He also leaves 2 brother's, John (Brenda), Steve, 2 sister's, Patty Kunz (Bob), Barbie Lamping (Dick), his mother-in-law, Mary Ruth Lindquist, 2 sisters-in-law, Jane Druten (Bob), Amy McNitt (Jay), brothers-in-law, Jack Lindquist (Nancy), Bob Lindquist (DeDe), David Lindquist and numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Sunday, October 16 at the Bishop Miege High School Gym, 5041 Reinhardt Drive, Shawnee Mission, KS. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October, 17 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Rd., Roeland Park, KS. Due to limited seating at St. Agnes, additonal seating and livestreaming of the Funeral Mass will be available in the Bishop Miege School Gym. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
