Alfred D. Turner, 79, 402 E. Walnut St., Greensburg, died Monday, Sept. 5, 1988, in the Greensburg Heritage House Nursing Home.
He was born Feb. 9, 1907, in England, Ark., the son of Charles and Lena Van Turner. He retired in 1965 as a quality checker at a milk dairy in Harlingen, Texas. He was a member of the Greensburg Senior Citizens.
On Feb. 14, 1958, he married Ida McCann Alexander, and she survives, with four sons, Neil Turner, Texas, Charles Turner, New Mexico, Marvin Turner, Florida, and Mark Turner, Greensburg; three daughters, Joyce Turner, Oklahoma, Dorcus Turner, Texas, and Penny Lowe, Taylorsville, Ind.; five stepchildren, Jean Clifton, Texas, Beverly Gardner, Florida, Rex Alexander, St. Paul, Ind., and Mike Alexander and Ron Draper, both of Greensburg; two brothers, Van Turner, Texas, and Lois Turner, North Little Rock, Ark.; four sisters, Lalah Graham and Flo Robbins, both of North Little Rock, Ark., Gladys Williams, Oklahoma, and Lillian Scroggins, England, Ark.; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Turner, and a brother, Clyde Turner.
Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, Greensburg, with the Rev. Charles Binkley officiating.
Visitation will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
It is suggested that any memorials go to the family.
