Alfred T. Schoettmer, 67, R.R.10, Greensburg, died Saturday morning in the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Schoettmer was born April 3, 1918, in Millhousen, the son of Joseph and Frances Thewes Schoettmer. He married Isabella E. Wolter May 11, 1949, in Greensburg. He was a retired carpenter and veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John and the Conservation Club in Oldenburg.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Donald Schoettmer, St. Paul, and Thomas and James Schoettmer, both of Greensburg; three daughters, Mrs. Greg (Suzanne) Nicholas, and Deborah Schoettmer, both of Greensburg, and Sharon Schoettmer, West Lebanon; five brothers, Lawrence, Leonard and Robert J. Schoettmer, all of Greensburg, and Edward and Anthony Schoettmer, both of Connersville; two sisters, Mrs. John (Lorina) Krieger and Mrs. Elmo (Dorothy) Redelman, both of Greensburg; and three grandchildren, Eric and Brian Schoettmer, and Danielle Nicholas.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Schoettmer; one sister, Marie Herbert; and his step-father, Joseph Kuntz.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Micheal Kelley officiating. Buial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
