Mr. Forrest Bomar Bates, age 85, of McKinney, Texas passed away January 20, 2008, in McKinney. He was born July 21, 1922, in McKinney to Jess and Willie Geneva (Henderson) Bates. On October 16, 1965, he married Virginia Duncan in McKinney. Mr. Bates served in the U.S. Army. He worked for the VA Hospital as an administrative clerk. He was a Mason and a member of the North Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Jan Burnside of McKinney; son, Don Bates; grandson, Michael Burnside; and great-granddaughter, Michaela Burnside. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Dowell Bates and Choice Bates. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Prosper, Texas with Dr. Danny Buster officiating. Mr. Bates will lie in repose on Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
