Robert Lee Stephens of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, after a brief hospitalization. He is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Evonne Loghry Stephens, his parents, a brother, a sister, and grandsons Adam Kerby and Steven Youngblood. Bob was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming and at the age of 11 moved to a family farm in Blockton, Iowa. He graduated from Blockton High School in 1954 and married his high school sweetheart in 1956 prior to moving to California to serve in the US Army. Bob attended Iowa State University and Wayne State University completing a doctorate in Education. He taught at Truman State University, Kirksville, MO retiring in 1995 and he and Kathy moved to Bella Vista, AR in 1996. They were active members of the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, AR. Bob was a member of the Freemasons. He is survived by 3 daughters Sheryl Youngblood, Sondra Sue Stephens, and Mary Kerby, three grandchildren Rebekah Hebert, Rachel McCain, and Jenna Buetttemeyer and seven great grandchildren. Bob will be interred at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
