Funeral services for Eunice K. Keel, 84, were held at the Faith Bible Chapel on 17 November 1998. Mrs. Keele passed away 14 November 1998 at her home in Salmon. She was born 23 April 1914 in Salmon, the fourth of eleven children born to Burt and Emma Elder Simer. She grew up and attended school in Salmon. Eunice married Wilfred L. Keele in Salmon 8 November 1932. Two children were born to this union. The family moved to Grants Pass, Oregon when World War II broke out, for a brief period before moving to Los Angeles, California where they both attended Lighthouse International Bible College. They graduated in 1945 and completed a pastorate in Medford, Oregon and Snoqualmie, Washington. The couple returned to Salmon to pastor the small church that they were married in 16 years earlier. The Keeles resigned from the Salmon Foursquare Church in 1965 and accepted the Boise Foursquare Church. Wilfred and Eunice returned to Salmon and began co-pastoring the Salmon Foursquare Church in 1966. The church was changed to Faith Bible Chapel, as the church became more community oriented, to express the convictions of the Keeles and their members. Eunice was very active in Youth Children's Ministries. The Keeles were responsible for 13 young people entering the field of ministry. Eunice is survived by her daughter, Marcella(Edward) Tewalt of Salmon, her daughter-in-law, Jayne Keele of Perry, Iowa; her three brothers, Ben Simer of Shoshone, Jim Simer of Portland, Oregon and Paul Simer of The Dalles, Oregon; two sisters, Lois Boesiger of Shoshone and Betty Hoyt of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren; 21 Great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilfred, and one son, Lewis.
