Christy Ann Hurt Payne, 54, of Bedford, departed this life on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at Carilion Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born December 25, 1953, to Ruby Jane Bryant and the late Alfred Hurt. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Bobby Lee Payne; one daughter, Ellen Payne (Walter); one son, Bobby Payne Jr. (Shemicka); two grandchildren, Latasha and Jermaine Payne; two stepchildren, Theresa Hall and Mekayla Jackson; six sisters, Letitia Hilber, Sue Bryant, Gracie Bryant, Phyllis Bryant, Gloria Hurt and Elizabeth Leftwich; four brothers, Tony Bryant, Randy Bryant, Steve Hurt and Clarence Hurt; and a host of aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in law, nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, at the Bedford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kelvin Edwards, Sr. Eulogist. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Goode. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Friends may view the remains after 12 noon on Friday, February 8, 2008.
