Lola Thorogood Mann, age 95 of Sachse, Texas died Wednesday August 31, 2022 in Sachse. She was a Marine veteran, a member of the Women's Marines group, lived in Iran in the '70's until she was evacuated in 1979, had the opportunity to travel many places in the world, and reading was her favorite thing to do. Lola was born June 16, 1927 in Spartansburg, Pennsylvania to Lionel and Ethel Inman Thorogood. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Horace Lee Mann; one daughter, Cheryl Lee Mann; one son, Edward Oren Mann; and nine siblings.
Lola is survived by one daughter, Nadara (Sam) Feldman and husband Jeff of Wylie, Texas; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 2, 2022 at the National Cemetery 522 South Garland Avenue and 6th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas with Brother Jan Akins officiating, with burial at the National Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nadara (Sam) Feldman, Jeff Feldman, grandchildren Terina Kelly, Jessica Bootenhoff and Billy Sims, Ron and Audra Mitchell, beloved friends Ron and Frances Hollingsworth, James and Sandra Colvin, and Kim Tomlin.
