Inventor. Ginsburg led the Ampex team of designers with the invention of the Video Tape Recorder (VTR) and development of video magnetic tape recording for instant playback. He held 7 U.S and 32 foreign patents, and in 1957 won an Emmy for his outstanding contributions to television and broadcasting technology. In 1973 he was elected into the National Academy of Engineering and in 1990 was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
