She was born on June 14, 1932 in Bloomington, Indiana the daughter of Cecil Ross and Lucy (Wetzel) Wampler. June was a 1950 graduate of University High School and was also a 1958 graduate of Indiana University where she received her bachelor's degree in education. She married the love of her life Donald Gene Hendricks on June 9, 1956 in Bloomington, Indiana. They were married for sixty-six years with many happy memories.
June was a member of West Second Street Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and loved her family very much, she took great pride in taking care of them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and working in her flower garden. She will be greatly missed.
June is survived by her husband, Donald "Don" Hendricks of Bloomington; three children, Jeffrey Brian (Loretta) Hendricks; Susan Elaine Hendricks Phipps; Timothy David Hendricks; six grandchildren, Canaan (Andrea) Shaffner; Jacob (Audrey) Shaffner; Rebecca (Ethan) Hendricks Maners; Alis Nicole (Mike) Phipps David; Benjamin Wesley (Katie) Phipps and Trevor Adam Phipps; eleven great grandchildren, Juliette; Ryker and Jonas Shaffner; Adalee and Lula Shaffner; Jaxon; Weston and Mason David; Gideon; Brody and Sawyer Phipps; one brother, Fredrick Ross Wampler; and four nieces and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Mary Edith Wampler Young.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10:00am to service time 12pm The funeral service will follow, at 12:00pm at the Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St Rd 37, Bloomington with Rev Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Saturday, September 3, 2022.
