Melvin Nelson Cochrane November 8, 1931 - October 6, 2022
Melvin Nelson Cochrane, 90, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 11:37 am October 6, 2022 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor. He was born November 8, 1931 in Ewing, Illinois to the late Ralph and Irene (Melton) Cochrane. Melvin married Leona (Groves) Cochrane and she preceded him in death on February 11, 2017. Melvin is survived by his friend, Diane Trotter and husband, Reverend Ron of Sahuarita, Arizona and several cousins including, Betty Sinks of Benton, Illinois. In addition to his parents and wife, Melvin was preceded in death by his brother, Neal Cochrane. Mr. Cochrane proudly served his country in the United States Army. Melvin was a member of Bakerville Free Will Baptist Church and Jefferson County Historical Society. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 10:00 am at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn, Illinois with Reverend Ron Trotter officiating. Interment will follow.
