Scott Michael Fowler, 49, of Elkhorn, NE, formerly of Bemidji, MN died at his home on December 22, 2015.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Jill Torgerson officiating. The service will be followed by military honors.
Scott was born in Minot, ND on April 29, 1966 to Joseph Fowler and Joyce Davis Fowler. Scott was raised in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1985. He attended Northwestern Technical College in Thief River Falls. In 1986, Scott enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed aboard the USS Enterprise serving as a Petty Officer 3rd Class Parachute Rigger. He was honorably discharged in 1990. After leaving the Navy, he worked for US West for a number of years as a lineman and supervisor. Scott enjoyed spending time with his son Jackson and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his son Jackson Fowler, mother Joyce Davis Beck (Gordon), father Joseph Fowler (Carol), sisters Brenda Dukek, Kris Hillaert (Gervais), Angie Beck, Shana Guerrero (Martine) and Nichol Dahl (Keith), uncles Michael Fowler (Laura) and Skip Cox (Deb), aunts Cathy Anderson (Jim) and Jeanette Davis and the mother of his son, Jill Fishbaugher. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his special friend Jen Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother Todd who died in infancy, grandparents Dorothy and Ralph Cox and Lester and Hannah Davis, grandfather Hubert B. Fowler and uncle Ken Davis.
