Betty was an active member of Lavon Drive Baptist Church, and along with John they raised their family in a Christian home. Her interests included church, family, sewing, family trips, and sending homemade cards to family for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. (Betty's cards brightened the day of the person because they knew it was made from love.) Her dog, Freddie, was another love in her life until she was not able to care for him anymore.
Betty was a loving wife and wonderful mother to five children keeping the home going.
Betty is survived by her 5 children; Elizabeth Hale of Garland, Texas, Rebecca Brooks and husband, Kevin Brooks of Bowie, Texas, Mark Collins and wife, Paula Collins of San Antonio, Texas, Carianna Price and husband, Phillip Price of Lebanon, Tennessee, and John Collins and wife, Jamie Collins of East Tawas, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
