UNCLE BILL IS DEAD AT MONROE

Mr. W. C. Ogburn succumbs as Result of a Paralytic Stroke.

Monroe, May 20. -- Mr. W. C. Ogburn, familiarly known as "Uncle Billy," died here this morning as a result of a paralytic stroke several months ago. He was in his seventy-eighth year and was a good, true Christian gentleman. He was a member of the Methodist Church, and Dr. J. E. Abernethy, his pastor, will conduct the funeral tomorrow at 11 o'clock on West Barton street from the residence.

Mr. Ogburn is survived by several children and grandchildren. He was a brother of Mr. Nick Ogburn of this city, and Rev. T. J. Ogburn of Murphy. He was also an uncle of Rev. Snead Ogburn, a missionary now at Matsayuma, Japan.
