James "Jim" R. Freise, 68, of Viroqua, WI passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Gundersen Health System, LaCrosse, WI, of a heart attack.

Jim was born November 13, 1947 in Belvidere, IL to William & Laura (Glade) Freise.

He graduated from Marengo High School, Marengo IL, and served with the US Army from 1968-1969 in Vietnam. He married Deborah White, of Marengo IL, in 1976. They later moved to farm in Viroqua WI in 1979. He was a life time farmer and carpenter. He enjoyed collecting antiques of all kinds, especially IH Tractors. Jim had quite the personality, loved to talk & visit; had truly wonderful friends and neighbors. His family and farm were his pride and joy.

Jim is survived by his wife, Deb, and their wonderful children Otto (Alicia) Freise, Rebecca (Tim) Solverson, Louis (Sara) Freise. Along with 5 precious grandchildren Lee Freise, Andrew & Alex Solverson, Jonathan & Lauren Freise. He is also survived by sister, Darlene (Don) Fuller; brothers William (Cindy) Freise, Ronald (Deborah) Freise; mother in-law Barbara White; brother in-law Howard (Shelly) White; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and father in-law Earl White.

Jim requested funeral arrangements remain private. However, there will be a celebration of life ceremony at Norwegian Hollow Hideaway, E4533 Norwegian Hollow Rd, Viroqua WI, Saturday, June 25 at 1:00 p.m.
