Jeanne E. (McCollough-Alston) Roberto, 69, a lifelong resident of Morristown, died peacefully after a short illness on Feb. 12, 2021, at Morristown Medical Center.
She was predeceased by her father, Joseph W. McCollough, Sr., brothers, Joseph W. McCollough, Jr. and Stephen McCollough and her beloved dog, Lucy. She is survived by many who loved her: Her mother, Shirley J. McCollough of Morristown; children, Melvin Alston, Jr. and Meghan Alston, both of Morristown; her sister, Kathryn McCollough of Connersville, IN; her beloved grandchildren, Kyrah Alston, Aiden, Mia, and Emmy Phinn; many nieces and nephews, and her crazy dog, Gino.
Born in Morristown, NJ on August 13, 1951, Jeanne attended St. Margaret's School and Morristown High School, graduating with the class of 1969. She worked for many years as a Customer Service Professional for Diamond Shamrock, Drew Division of Ashland Chemical, and BASF.
Jeanne coached girls' softball for Morristown National Little League and volunteered with the Morristown Cougars Youth Football Club and MHS Booster Club. She was ever-present at local youth sports events, cheering on her children, nephews, and other youth.
Services are private due to Covid restrictions but services will be live streamed by clicking link below on Saturday at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA.)
