George Simeon Whitson of Stigler, Oklahoma passed away February 5, 2008 in Stigler at the age of 85. He was born October 13, 1922 in Texas to John and Mary (Burchfiel) Whitson.

George is survived by;

One daughter:
Connie Underwood and husband Jerry of Haworth, Oklahoma

One son:
Kenneth Whitson and wife Cindy of Stigler

One sister:
Rose Logan of Parsons, Kansas

Five Grandchildren:
Karissa, Ashley, and Leslie Underwood, Julie Baker, and Tyler Whitson

George was predeceased by his wife, Ruby, one daughter, Barbara Ann Whitson, and three brothers, Roy, Gene, and Joe Whitson.

George was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Stigler. He was an Electrician and Plumber in Haskell County for many years and enjoyed his retirement raising cattle and gardening. He was a World War II veteran serving on the USS Pittsburg in the 7th Division.

Funeral Service will be 10 am Friday, February 8, 2008 at the First Assembly of God Church, Stigler with Rev. Leo Guthrie officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 pm Friday, February 8, 2008 in Buzzard Cemetery, Grove, Oklahoma
