Mary Ward COCKING was born 12 Feb 1791 and baptised 13 Mar 1791 at Redruth, Cornwall, to Joseph COCKING and Elizabeth Ward FROOD. She was married 23 June 1810 at Illogan, Cornwall, to Thomas PAULL (1789-1839). They had twelve children, the last one born in 1833. On the 1841 Census, she was living at Illogan Downs with several of her children, at the PAULL family farm on Spar Lane. In April 1847, Mary and a large group of her family emigrated per "Roslyn Castle", departing from Falmouth, Cornwall, and arriving at Quebec, Canada on 26 May 1847. The family then travelled to Dodgeville, Iowa County, Wisconsin, together, via Montreal, Wellington Canal, Kingston, Niagara Falls, Chippawa, Buffalo, Milwaukee, and Madison. Mary died 3 Jan 1868 at Dodgeville and was buried at the Eastside Cemetery.
