Margrite Dyke is the daughter of Thomas Dyke. She married Joseph D Wykle, son of William and Jane Dunlap Wykel, on October 31, 1833 in Green County, TN. They had six children: Eliza Jane, Elizabeth E., Marion Cicero, Marquis DeLafayette, Mary Priscilla and an infant daughter.
OBITUARY: Death of an Aged Lady
Mrs. J.D. Wykle, mother of Mrs. Martin P. Murphey, died on Saturday last at her residence on South Main street, this city, after a prolonged illiness, aged about 70 years. The funeral of the deceased took place this (Monday) forenoon at 10 o'clock, Rev. W.H. Prestley officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Wykle Cemetery, four miles west of Decatur. The deceased was an excellent christian lady, and had many intimate friends in this community. She leaves a husband and two daughters.
