Joe spent his early youth in the Fayetteville, Ark., and Washington County, Ark. areas with his mother, and step-dad, Dawson "Pop" Bailey [#69551879], before moving to Calif. where he graduated from high school. After graduating he moved back to Fayetteville, Ark., and got a job with Swanson's, where he met Brenda Lou Dorsey, whom he married Jan. 11, 1958. He loved and adored Brenda and was quite fond of her wonderful cooking.
Joe loved nothing more than being surrounded by his loud, boisterous family and hearing about his grandkids' activities. He was a great story teller who never let the truth get in the way, and an infamous prankster who loved to prank anyone, especially his children and brother-in-law Gene [#218750329].
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, and sister and brother-in-law Carolyn "Sue" and Gene Dickard. Joe is survived by his wife Brenda, children Joey (Tawnie), John (Deborah), Cassie Franklin (Bill), and Laura Vinyard (Jimmy), grandchildren Robert, Alicia, Catherine, Sarah, Hannah, Jason, Drake, and Tatum, seven great-grandchildren, mother-in-law Ina Marie Dorsey Bassett, and numerous other relatives.
The family will receive friends Wed., Oct. 12, 2022, from 6-7:30 pm at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Ark. Burial will be in the Farmington [Ark.] Cemetery with a private graveside cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Joe's memory to Washington Regional Medical Foundation for the pastoral care fund, P.O. Box Fund, P.O. Box 356, Fayetteville, Ark. 72702.
