Lois Marie Adams

CHURCH HILL - Lois Marie Adams, 70, of 34 Silverlake Rd. Lot 18, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday (June 23, 2005) at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was born and had resided all of her life in Hawkins County. She was the daughter of the late Lon and Mary Alice Davis Ferrell. Prior to her illness, she had worked as a dietary aid at Indian Path Medical Center as well as area nursing homes.

She was a very loving mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family, especially the ones who knew her affectionately as Mom, Nanny and Granna.

"It broke our hearts to let you go, but you did not go alone. A part of all of us went with you, the day our God in Heaven called you home."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "June" Adams; a sister, Dasiy Dodge; and brothers, Amos "Jake" Ferrell and Paul Ferrell.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Lois) Mills of Church Hill; son, Gerald and Opal Adams of Kingsport; grandchildren, Mrs. Shannon (April Dawn) Barrett of Kingsport, Miss Brandy Mills of Church Hill, Mrs. Daniel (Courtney) Lane of Church Hill and Miss Ashley Adams of Church Hill; great-grandchildren, Taylor Anne-Marie Mills, Danielle Lane and Sydney Lane, all of Church Hill; a great-grandson due in August; sisters, Lena "Sallie" Ferrell of the home and Hilda Atwara of Johnson City; brothers, James Ferrell of the home, Mac Ferrell and wife, Virgie, Carl Ferrell and wife, Clora, all of Church Hill and Raymond Ferrell and wife, Pam of Florida; sister-in-law, Helen Ferrell; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Carter Trent Funeral Homes of Church Hill or friends may call anytime at the residence at 340 Silverlake Rd. lot 18 in Church Hill, or at the son's home at 1925 Greenway Street, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating.
Music will be provided by Hilda Atwara and Rhonda Thornburg.
Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Mount Carmel.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Carter Trent Funeral Homes of Church Hill is in charge of arrangements.
