OKLAHOMA CITY
Michael "Mike", 63, was born on May 3, 1956, in Little Rock, AR to Mary Ann & O'Tar Norwood. He graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School in 1974, attended OSU and graduated from Central State University in 1979 with a BA degree in English.

Michael was a sports enthusiast with a keen and vast knowledge of sports, teams, players and statistics, which he enjoyed and shared eagerly with family and friends. He played baseball and joined his family's love of tennis throughout his life. Michael also loved nature and animals and was especially fond of training and working with his father's hunting dogs. Michael was always considered a good and trusted friend and enjoyed spending time with family, especially recent holidays with his sisters and their families. He was a devoted and long-term employee at the OKC Target Store on N. May & NW Highway for his entire working career. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church for over forty years.

Michael was always interested in others and made you comfortable with his wit, laughter and inquisitive manner. He will be greatly missed and always remembered for his kindness, caring and gentle spirit and as a loyal and loving son, brother, and uncle whose life enriched us all.

Michael passed away from a sudden and unexpected heart attack and is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Ann Norwood. He is survived by his father, O'Tar T. Norwood and his wife, Elissa, of Edmond; his brother, Ross Norwood of Edmond; his two sisters, Paula Chappell and Mary Rompf of Texas; and his nieces, Kristin & Haley of Texas and Maryann of Florida; and his nephew, Nicholas Norwood of Edmond, as well as many other family members.

In his true and humble way, Michael requested no formal funeral service be held, but Michael and his life will be honored and celebrated each day by all of us.
