ZINNA N. MURRAY FINAL RITES HELD

Funeral services for Zinna Palestine Nickell Murray, 90, were held Monday in the Jensen LDS Ward Chapel. Mrs. Murray died Wednesday of last week in the Uintah County Hospital of pneumonia.

Prayer at the mortuary was by Edgar Jones. Mary Ann Snow played the prelude and postlude music. Kay Trujillo and Enola Montgomery sang "The Wonderful Mother of Mine," accompanied by Mary Ann Snow. Opening prayer was given by Curtis Hadlock.

Remarks were given by Bishop Slaugh. Curtis Dudley read the obituary. Mr. and Mrs. Glade Sowards sang "That Beautiful Land," accompanied by Rebecca Sowards.

Ted McKalister gave remarks, followed by Carwin Snow singing "The Old Rugged Cross." He was accompanied by Marie P. Hatch. Remarks were also given by Dennis Murray.

The main speaker was Frank Walker. "The End of a Perfect Day" was sung by Gay Calwell, accompanied by Mrs. Hatch. Bishop Lyle Mortensen gave the closing prayer.

Pallbearers were Leo Hatch, Dale Stewart, Blaine Murray, Gene Stewart, Larry Murray and Tom Murray. Honorary pallbearers were all of Mrs. Murray's grandsons. Lou Timothy dedicated the grave. Burial was in the Maeser Cemetery.

Those who attended from out-of-town were the Lyle Martensens and family, Salt Lake City; the Leo Hatches and family and the Dick Hatches, Heber; the Robert Calderwoods and his parents, Ogden; The Dale Stewarts and family, the Auer Warrens and family, the Blaine Murrays and family, Anna Massey and Donna Wardell, all of Rangely.

The Bill Hatches, Oray, Colorado; the Larry Murrays, Grand Junction, the Lynn Nickells, the Jerry Hatches and the Harold Andersons and son, Roosevelt; the Lynn Rosses and family, Henderson, Nevada.

The DeWard Murrays, Gillette, Wyoming; Neil Soderberg, Sandy; the Charles Murrays and family, Kathy Nickols and Judy Hatch, Provo and Ted McKalister, Denver.

Mrs. Murray was born April 26, 1881 in Flatgap, Kentucky to Valentine Taylor and Emily Amanda Harris Nickell. She married Jeremiah Hatch March 14, 1897 in Vernal. They were later divorced. She married Thomas Ward Murray January 31, 1905 in Vernal. He died October 14, 1914.

Survivors include sons, daughters, Jerry Hatch, Roosevelt; Mrs. Edgar (Amanda Hatch) Jones, Vernal; Arlie, Arthur Murray, Albert Murray, Mrs. Luther (Josephine Murray) Stewart, Thomas Ward Jr., all of Jensen; Charles Murray, Provo, 38 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren, brother, Jim, Vernal.

Zinna Palestine Nickell is the daughter of Mary Emily Amanda Harris and Valentine Taylor "Tine" Nickell.

She married Jeremiah Ricie Hatch.

She next married Thomas Ward Murray January 31, 1905.
